Parmalee Builds on 2.2 Billion Streams With New Song “I Need Somebody”
September 7, 2026
Parmalee continues its hit-making run with new music and another major career milestone.
A New Song From a Country Powerhouse
Parmalee has released “I Need Somebody,” adding a fresh song to a catalog that has now generated more than 2.2 billion streams. The North Carolina band—brothers Matt and Scott Thomas, cousin Barry Knox and longtime friend Josh McSwain—has also earned six No. 1 Country hits and a growing collection of Platinum singles.
A Remarkable Run at Country Radio
“Cowgirl,” the lead release from Fell in Love With a Cowgirl, became the longest-running No. 1 by a band on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in nearly 14 years. The success followed fan favorites including “Take My Name,” “Girl in Mine,” “Just the Way” with Blanco Brown and “Gonna Love You.”
Parmalee also sent “God Knew Better” to Country radio, where it arrived as the most-added song across major Country radio charts. “I Need Somebody” gives the band’s growing audience another reason to turn it up.
