Nickelback’s “Rockstar” Goes Diamond as the Band Takes Over INDYCAR’s Season Finale

With 16 new RIAA certifications, an 11th studio album arriving October 30, and a fourth-place finish by a Nickelback-wrapped race car at Laguna Seca, 2026 continues to deliver major milestones for the Canadian rock powerhouse.
“Rockstar” Reaches Diamond Status
Nickelback has earned its first Diamond-certified single in the United States. “Rockstar” has now been certified 12× Platinum, leading a new round of 16 certifications announced September 4.
The newly announced certifications include:
- 12× Platinum: “Rockstar”
- 9× Platinum: “How You Remind Me”
- 5× Platinum: “Far Away”
- 4× Platinum: “If Today Was Your Last Day,” “Animals,” “Photograph” and “Savin’ Me”
- 3× Platinum: “Gotta Be Somebody,” “Burn It to the Ground” and “If Everyone Cared”
- 2× Platinum: “This Afternoon”
- Platinum: “Someday,” “Figured You Out” and “Something in Your Mouth”
- Gold: “Feelin’ Way Too Damn Good,” “San Quentin” and the album The Best of Nickelback, Vol. 1
An 11th Album Is on the Way
Nickelback’s 11th studio album, Everything Under the Sun, is scheduled for release October 30, 2026. The band has already shared “Bones for the Crows,” “Rattle the Cage” featuring John 5, and “Leave Me Behind,” giving fans an early preview of the next chapter.
Nickelback Takes Over INDYCAR’s Season Finale
Nickelback brought its Name and Music to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES Season Finale. Nickelback and SiriusXM’s Octane partnered with Meyer Shank Racing on a custom rock-inspired wrap for Felix Rosenqvist’s No. 60 Honda.
The car’s wings displayed the Nickelback name and Everything Under the Sun. Rosenqvist—winner of the 2026 Indianapolis 500 — will start from the inside of the second row for Sundays Mission Foods Grand Prix of Monterey at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in the special Nickelback livery.
Nickelback will serve as Grand Marshals for the 2026 NTT INDYCAR SERIES Season Finale, bringing the worlds of Mainstream Rock and Open-Wheel Racing together before the engines fired.
A Major Year for Nickelback
Between a first Diamond single, a new studio album, and a high-profile INDYCAR partnership, Nickelback continues to reach new audiences while adding to a catalog that has already made the band one of rock music’s biggest global success stories.
